  • Net profit rose 20.42% sequentially, helped by a 6.85 percentage-point fall in the tax rate.

Price around the results

Revenue growth translated into modest operating leverage

Route Mobile's consolidated revenue grew 2.45% sequentially, while expenses rose 1.78%, lifting operating profit by 9.04% and operating margin by 0.59 percentage points to 9.75%. Net profit increased 20.42% to Rs 82.55 cr, but the improvement below operating profit was also shaped by tax and other income.

Lower tax supported profit as interest costs rose

The consolidated tax rate fell to 18.21% from 25.06%, a 6.85 percentage-point reduction that helped net profit grow faster than profit before tax. Interest expense increased 80.88% sequentially, while other income accounted for 12.10% of pre-tax profit, so reported profit was not driven by operating income alone.

Margin remains well below the telecommunications peer median

Route Mobile's 9.75% operating margin was 15.06 percentage points below the 24.81% median among seven telecommunications companies that had reported the quarter, placing it second from the bottom. The available quarterly trend shows margin improving from 9.16% in Q1FY27, but does not yet establish a longer multi-quarter direction.

New products and Heltar expand the platform

Management said new-generation product revenue grew 35.8% sequentially and 36.7% year on year, with enhanced routing and higher-margin traffic from these products lifting gross profit margins. The company said its July 2026 acquisition of Heltar Technologies for Rs 33.7 cr adds conversational AI, AI agents and no-code customer journeys, and that Heltar's core team is planned to expand through additional hires. The results were filed after market close on 27 October 2026, so there is no post-results share-price reaction to assess.
