Price around the results

Revenue growth did not convert into operating leverage

The consolidated Q4FY26 revenue increase of 16.61% year on year translated into only 10.53% growth in operating profit. Expenses rose faster than revenue, which cut operating margin by 1.47 percentage points to 26.58%. Sequentially, revenue grew 6.5% while expenses grew 7.37%, also limiting operating-profit growth to 4.18%.

Tax reversal masked the operating result

Pre-tax profit increased 4.37% year on year, but net profit declined 14.98% as the tax rate rose by 18.8 percentage points from -1.37% in Q4FY25 to 17.43%. Other income accounted for 14.99% of pre-tax profit, so reported earnings also included a material non-operating contribution. Sequentially, the tax rate fell by 9.04 percentage points, helping net profit rise 44.64%.

Margin is still above peers but has weakened since Q2

Operating margin has declined for two straight quarters, from 30.67% in Q2FY26 to 27.17% in Q3FY26 and 26.58% in Q4FY26. The year-on-year pressure reflects expenses growing faster than revenue, while interest and depreciation also increased 22.0% and 22.53%, respectively. The margin remained 3.2 percentage points above the 23.38% median for 48 healthcare peers that had reported.

Management points to a wider collection and laboratory network

In its investor presentation, management said the company had added 32 laboratories, more than 1,900 patient service centres and 2,300 pickup points over the last two years. The expansion provides context for the company's broader operating footprint, although the quarter's expense growth still exceeded revenue growth.

The initial stock move was within its usual results range
