Price around the results
Domestic demand led Q2 growth
KRBL’s consolidated revenue grew 14.31% YoY, while operating profit rose 46.69% and net profit increased 50.44%. Management said domestic revenue reached its highest level, supported by volume and realisation growth, while lower exports partly offset overall growth. Revenue also rose 15.48% QoQ, but net profit slipped 0.69% as other income fell 36.11%.
Sequential cost pressure narrowed the margin
The YoY margin expansion came from revenue growing faster than expenses: 14.31% versus 8.61%, respectively. The sequential picture was less favourable, with expenses rising 17.41% against 15.48% revenue growth and reducing operating margin by 1.33 percentage points. Other income accounted for 11.78% of pre-tax profit, while the QoQ tax-rate increase of 0.81 percentage points also worked against net-profit growth.
Margin remains above the FMCG peer median
Operating margin improved from 12.16% in Q1FY26 to 14.99% in Q2FY26, 15.49% in Q3FY26, 15.02% in Q4FY26, and 20.56% in Q1FY27 before easing to 19.23% in Q2FY27. This is a sequential decline after the Q1FY27 jump, but the margin remains 6.76 percentage points above the 12.47% median for 31 FMCG peers that have reported.
Management is targeting domestic reach and exports
Management said KRBL is pursuing economy variants and small packs to increase penetration, alongside Arabic television and location-based social media aimed at local consumers in export markets. The company also said it digitised the distributor order-to-cash process with a global consulting firm. Its export strategy identifies acquisition of an adjacent basmati consumer, according to the presentation.
