Price around the results

Execution held up as Q2 revenue eased

Asian Energy’s consolidated Q2FY27 revenue was Rs 266.67 cr, down -1.67% sequentially, while operating profit rose +48.18% to Rs 31.34 cr. Management said the quarter’s revenue was driven by execution across all segments and that Kuiper operations returned to normal levels.

Lower costs, not other income, drove the margin recovery

Expenses declined -5.88% sequentially, falling faster than revenue and expanding operating margin by 3.95 percentage points to 11.75%. Interest expense fell -3.19%, while the higher tax rate, up 3.32 percentage points, limited the conversion of pre-tax profit into net profit. Other income accounted for only 3.21% of pre-tax profit, so the profit increase was not materially dependent on non-operating income.

Margin improved sequentially but trails sector peers

Net profit increased +33.78% sequentially to Rs 17.07 cr, with EPS rising +34.78% to Rs 3.41. The company’s 11.75% operating margin was 3.82 percentage points below the 15.57% median among 13 Energy-sector peers that had reported the quarter. The available quarter-on-quarter comparison shows a rebound from the 7.80% margin in Q1FY27, rather than a multi-quarter trend.

Management sets out a broader energy-platform plan

Management said the GK Offshore revenue-sharing contract marks a milestone in building an integrated energy platform. It said Duarmara is expected to begin testing and commercial production in FY28, and that oil and gas production is expected to increase fivefold to approximately 10,000 BOE by FY29/30. Management also said the company remains on track with its FY27 guidance.
